Task Description: For writing we have been learning to write compound and complex sentences. We are learning to gain an understanding of the history of the words we use everyday. For this writing task we had to write a story about what will happen at camp and how we would feel while at camp. If you would like to read my camp story you can look down below. In the morning I had to get ready and go to camp. But first I had to eat some breakfast at home. After I got ready I had to get my camp bags and go to the car. After that we went and drove to school. When I hopped out of the car I said goodbye to my parents because I know that I’m going to miss them both very much.  After we finally arrived there the tents were all up and everybody else went with their camp groups and went to play some games and some of the boys had to stay back and help set up the games for each camp group to play. After that it was morning tea and the boys got to eat KFC but only the boys that helped set up the games. Then after when everyone was finished eating we had to split up into our camp groups and head to our first activity of the day. My camp group was weka and my teacher was Mrs Sio. My camp group’s first activity was dodgeball. The other camp group that we had to vs was ruru. The game was very fun because my whole group worked together to beat the other team. At the end we WON. We were so happy but to be nice we went to congratulate the other team and to say that they did very well.  Finally it’s the end of the day for dinner we had nachos, the nachos were very delicious because of the chips and beef. Before we were going to bed we had to get into my pjs and brush my teeth and wash my face. Now it’s time to go to bed. Lolo, Simione and I went into our tent to go to bed. But before we went to sleep I wanted to say a prayer to my heavenly father and jesus christ to thank them and to ask them to bless my friends and especially my family at home. Then when we were about to sleep Simione  farted and Lolo and I were like YUCK and I said ‘’Guys it’s starting to spread around the tent’’. We all started to laugh. 

The next morning we had to wake up at around 5:00 to get ready for our last activity. For our last and final activity we were playing soccer. I was honestly feeling so happy because I am very good at soccer and it is also one of my favourite sports. After we got ready we had to eat breakfast. For breakfast we had toast, pancakes and to wash it all down we had milo. While eating breakfast we got to watch a movie. The movie that we watched was Lilo and stitch. Then when we were finished eating and watching the movie we went and headed to the top field to play soccer. The camp group that we competed against was pukeko. The soccer game was so much fun and guess what we won our game AGAIN. My camp group was just too good. Finally it’s lunch time. For lunch we had cheese and garlic pizza. Lunch was SO good. When we were finished eating lunch my friends and I wanted to play rugby on the bottom field until it was time for dinner. At last it’s time for dinner. For dinner we had cottage pie. Dinner was quite nice. I really enjoyed eating it. After eating dinner all of the camp groups headed to the hall for a camp concert. I was very excited to perform my camp groups dance because my family was going to come and watch and cheer for me. In the end, my camp group won FIRST PLACE. I was very happy. After the camp concert I ran to my parents to say hi and to tell them that I missed them SO much. When I finished doing that I had to go to my tent and go to sleep for the last day of the camp. 

Now it was the last day of camp. For the last day all of the camp groups and teachers went onto the bus to the pools to swim and have lots of before we go back home at the end of the day. At last it’s finally home time. We all drove back to school so that we could go home. When we arrived at school I saw my sister Catherine waiting for me outside of the hall  to pick me up. I was so happy when I went to see her because I was really wanting to go back home to see my family.
